I had never installed a car headlight before, but it was easy to do so. This works great in my van and am thrilled I didn’t have to have a mechanic do the installation. Woo Hoo!

Slight increased brightness. If you need to replace a bulb this one is good. I wouldn’t use it just to “increase brightness.” It doesn’t make much of a noticeable difference.

I put these in my 1996 explorer and didn’t see much of a difference over the replacement bulbs I had installed a few years earlier. The headlight lens seems to be dirty on the inside so rather than replacing the entire headlight assembly I thought I try this first. I would have thought a better bulb would at least make some sort of difference.

It is too bad that GE has apparently discontinued these GE NIGHTHAWK bulbs. I have used these and the competing Silverstars and the Nighthawks are equivalent in brightness but much longer in life span. Now (4/2009), I have only been able to find them as old stock on the internet and I see no mention of them on GE’s site. These are SO superior to the junk that boy racers (ricers??) are using with the terrible blue glare. If you are looking for “function over form” (look it up: it’s a great mantra) I have found these to be affordable, effective, and long-lasting. If anyone knows if GE still has a similar product under a new name, please post.

I replaced my stock Sylvania lights with GE Nighthawk lights, and was pleased to see some increase in the brightness and range of my head lights. Since it is advisable to replace both lights at the same time, I bought two of these.

Changed in February 2009, and still running well in October 2009.

With Amazon, the buying experience online was easy, although upon receiving, I found out that one light was in brand new packaging, while the second was opened, and taped up. (Although I haven’t had issues with it).

    So 4 stars for product,

    3 stars for Amazon packaging.
